Universal Media Co Magazines Home Design and WellBeing UP in the Independent Feb 2020 Roy Morgan Readership Survey
62.8% of Australians are Print Magazine Readers
The latest independently researched Readership Survey by Roy Morgan has been published, showing a very strong result for magazines generally and Universal Media Co publications specifically.
Strong Performance for Universal Media Co Magazines Home Design and WellBeing
Two Universal Media Co publications are included in the Roy Morgan Survey, and both are considerably up year-on-year.
WellBeing magazine is now on 148,000 readership — a year-on-year gain of 9.6%.
Home Design magazine is now on 119,000 — a year-on-year gain of 8.2%.
WellBeing is dominant in the natural living space and has only one genuine competitor — Prevention — which lost 12.6% to a low 76,000 readers.
Home Design magazine has had a year of growth among readers with home projects, and out-performs some of the more generalist home magazines such as Belle on 112,000, Real Living on 108,000 and Inside Out on 105,000.
Strong Performance for Magazines Generally
Michele Levine, CEO of Roy Morgan, says readership of magazines is holding strong at over three-quarters of the population (15.6 million) as magazines increase their online offerings: “The latest results from the Roy Morgan readership survey show 15.6 million Australians now read magazines whether in print or online, with print magazines the favoured channel and now read by almost 13.1 million (62.8% of population).”
