Announcing Reach Improvements to the Australasian Parks & Leisure Journal

Stakeholder Update 21/10/2026

The Australasian Parks & Leisure journal is now powered by Outdoor Design Source (ODS), which will work in a marketing as well as a production capacity for the journal.

That means the journal will continue as a quarterly, with three digital editions and one edition both print and digital timed for the National Conference, but from Vol 29 No 3 we can now offer certain reach improvements.

• Regular digital metrics – these currently stand at 9,540 Visits/25,700 Page Views in the last 28 days.
• ODS will now be building community around the journal by sending an EDM to its own databases to 12,000 interested parties in the local government, park and sports categories each time an edition is published.

“We believe the Australasian Parks & Leisure journal has a genuine role to play in developing the industry and are pleased to be putting some of our marketing behind this media product,” says Publisher Janice Williams. “By working as a marketing as well as a production partner, we expect to engage many new members of the industry with the best practices and case studies emerging from the Parks and Leisure Australia (PLA) community.”

In this next period, we also expect John Senior to retire and PLA HQ to take over the Editorship to ensure continued high-quality business storytelling and relevance to the industry. Further announcements will be made following the PLA National Conference in Melbourne.
