Homespun Magazine Now Bi-Monthly Bumper issues

The past year has seen many changes in the craft media industry, one being that Homespun is now proudly Australia’s only multi-craft media brand. As our readership has grown and we have increased our ranging across all retail outlets, including being the only craft magazine to enjoy full ranging in Coles, we’ve made a few improvements to further strengthen the title that we would like to share with you.

Homespun’s readership hit a record high this year, auditing 60,000/issue, and we were thrilled to deliver this audience to you.

New Frequency:

Based on our sales data from the past few years and consultations with retail partners, we’ve decided to change Homespun’s frequency from monthly to bi-monthly to give each issue an extra four weeks on sale. This has been done to pick up more sales and maintain a high readership across each and every issue, giving you greater reach. The change will take place from this December issue, which will enjoy eight weeks on sale. The next issue (20.01) will go on sale in February.

Increased Marketing

At the same time, we will increase our point-of-sale merchandising spend in retailers, including Coles, and our high-selling newsagents to further drive copy sales. Plus, we will increase our marketing spend to attend more events and grow digital sales of Homespun copies and subscriptions.

We have a number of new sales features, including project sponsorships and product road tests. Please get in touch with us to find out more.

Editorial

Going to six editions a year will also give us a chance to spend more time on each issue’s editorial and bring readers special in-depth features on crafting topics of interest. The six issues will be themed around all the favourite multi-crafts Homespun readers love, making it a joy to read and collect every year. We will continue with our successful BOM program in a slightly revised format. With the cover price remaining the same at $9.95, we know this is going to be a very compelling offering to crafters.

We also welcome our new editor, Deborah Segaert, who joins Homespun with a wealth of crafting and editorial experience, having managed her mother’s fabric company, Lorraine’s Patchwork Paradise, and later publishing the popular Australian magazine Down Under Quilts.

If you have any questions or we can assist you in any way with these changes, please get in touch. The team from Homespun wishes you a relaxing and festive Christmas season and we look forward to working closely with you in the new year.

Yours sincerely,

The Homespun Team
