After a strong 18 months, Home Design magazine has jumped ahead of Belle, Real Living and now Vogue Living in the Roy Morgan Readership Poll.

HOME DESIGN MAGAZINE IS UP AGAIN

Home Design has 110,000 readers in the Roy Morgan system, which places it above competing publications, despite its forensic focus on people with projects. “Home Design is one of the magazines that we specifically design for people with impending home projects,” said Publisher Janice Williams. “This audience is naturally smaller than those more speculative audiences who are just dreaming of a home project someday, or buying a magazine for the mix of home information and recipes. Given this, we are pleased to be beating some of the more general home publications.”

Home Design is Now Ahead
• Home Design is 8,000 readers above Belle, at 102,000,
• Home Design is 10,000 readers above Real Living, at 100,000
• Home Design is 16,000 readers above Vogue Living, at 94,000

Home Design is known to be above Houses and Habitus for retail sales, and is also above the localised publications QLD Living and Homes + Design in their respective states. Neither of these subscribe to the Roy Morgan Readership poll so there is no independently verifiable readership figure available for media buyers on these smaller publications.

THE WHOLE MAGAZINE MARKET IS UP

According to the poll, a total of 15,189,000 Australians aged 14+ (74.2 per cent) read magazines whether in print or online, either via the web or an app. That is up by an impressive 1.2 per cent, or 183,000, from a year ago, according to the results released today from the Roy Morgan Australian Readership report for the 12 months to December 2018.
Readership of print magazines was just under 12.6 million Australians aged 14+ (61.5 per cent), up 0.2 per cent, or 22,000, from a year ago. These are the latest findings from the Roy Morgan Single Source survey of 50,853 Australians aged 14+ in the 12 months to December 2018.
