Australian Retail sales increase 6.3% in January 2023 Compared to Same time Last Year says Mastercard

According to Mastercard’s SpendingPulse which measures both store and online retail sales, most retail categories had good momentum after a record holiday spend. High categories – Lodging up 15.9% compared to 12 months ago, followed by Apparel up 14.4%, then restaurants up 8.8%, jewellery up 8.4%, and grocery up 6.3%. Home furnishings, which boomed in the pandemic, grew 0.9%.
